SASKHO: a website that barely moves and still does not look plain

An interior architect who gets motion sick from scroll effects needed a portfolio site she could use herself.

SASKHO is an interior design studio whose owner gets motion sick from scroll effects, so SCORVIA built its website with no smooth scrolling, no scroll-linked animation and no parallax. The only movement is one reveal per section, switched off under reduced motion. The site has six pages carrying 812 image files and is live at saskho.com.

The problem

The client said plainly that moving graphics under the scroll made her ill. That ruled out the entire vocabulary a design studio normally reaches for on a portfolio site.

It ruled it out for the person whose work the site exists to sell. She had to be able to open her own site without feeling unwell.

What we built

No element position depends on scroll offset anywhere in the build. The only movement is a single reveal per section, and it is switched off when the visitor asks for reduced motion.

  • No smooth-scroll library: the page scrolls the way the browser scrolls it.
  • No scroll-linked animation and no parallax: nothing slides or drifts as you read.
  • One reveal per section: off under reduced motion.
  • Her own palette: the four colours from her brand board.
  • Honest images: every frame states whether it is a 3D or a photorealistic visualisation, because the studio has not photographed a finished interior yet.

The result

Six pages built from the client's own documents and her reference screens, carrying 812 image files. The site reads as calm rather than empty.

Nothing on it claims to be a photograph of a room that does not exist yet. See it at saskho.com.
